Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, singer, and dancer. Early Broadway parts include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford's current film includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. In the form of a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platform. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be on March 20, 2023. He plays alongside Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the production. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons in CBS hit comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role of Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and was raised in Denver.
