Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four children, was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents who have a doctor for teeth and a school teacher were supportive and encouraged by her early love for drama and theater. Her initial dream to become a master monkey was surpassed by her desire to pursue a degree in theater and drama. There was an immediate rise for her to become a well-known young actor. When she finished her education and acting, she appeared on the French show for spotting talent Jeunes Premiers that was sponsored by Canal+. She won the award for the best young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors in the year 2000. She then began a professional career as an actor. Tautou was a member of the church as well as the Institut Catholique de Paris during her early years, but now dissociates herself from these upbringings. Along with her acting career she also pursued a modeling career. Also, she is the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is sometimes referred to as the Chanel Muse. In addition to her acting career she also has an interest in photography. She recently exhibited some images at the Arles Film Festival under the name Superficial. She focuses her photography on celebrity, fame and the press that scrutinised her following her fame-making debut in the film Amelie. There are also several photographs that show her self. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her first role in Amelie Poulain in the film Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie made international waves in the field of box office, and won awards around the world. It's the largest French language film to ever be released in the US. Following this massive success, Tautou was later cast in many films which included British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Tautou also appeared alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
